Cultural Background Insights into Landscape
At the very beginning, we didn't just think about the design at the general level of "how to create a good exhibition area", but hoped to explore in a deeper level "how to create an art collection with regional cultural characteristics". The project is adjacent to the Minjiang River and faces Mount Gushan on the opposite side of the river. Ideal natural advantages allow symbolic cultural symbols to be condensed into the site, so that the landscape can be seen clearly in the limited area and the memory of the city can be regained.

Keynote As White As Coagulate Fat
The site is surrounded by a chaotic environment, with a green belt retreating 30M inwards, which makes it difficult for the site to escape from its surroundings. However, the "The Whites" style of the building and the extremely modern yacht shape make this problem get the ideal solution.
Summary of site situation
"White is an excellent color that separates the architecture from the local environment." This allows the site to stand out from the chaos and sets the keynote for the landscape - "purity".
Richard Meier has deftly associated "The Whites" style with traditional Chinese porcelain. "Just like porcelain has the perfect interface, white can also make the building show its unique style under the gloomy sky." This porcelain refers to Dehua white porcelain, which is produced in Fujian province and enjoys the reputation of "as white as coagulate fat and snow". As the port of the Maritime Silk Road, Fuzhou has sold this kind of porcelain to the world, which has influenced the world's aesthetic and generation after generation of artists.

After positioning the cultural background and keynote of the site, we begin to deeply explore the internal relationship of the site. We create the yacht style based on the architecture, and the landscape provides a good landscaping effect. The concise and pure design language interacts with nature, light and shadow and architecture. The light is immersed in every corner, making the pure white space present a real and sensational tension and dynamic. Natural language, texture and brushwork are used to depict a simple, unadorned, ecological form of space, thus triggering the yearning for future life.

When using white material, designers often need to use the texture effect of the material itself to highlight the natural texture and natural concave-convex feeling of the texture coating, so as to achieve a vivid effect. The streamlined surface is pure and flowing, while all these features emphasize the abstract and unified form of the overall design, creating a flowing space to act as a guide line for the landscape.
The spotlights on the top and the wall wash lights create an effect similar to the stars and lights on fishing boats, which complement each other and guide the pedestrians.
Ascend Step by Step The place where light and shadow fades away
"At first it is very narrow and allows only a few pedestrians to pass. After a few dozen steps forward, the space suddenly opens up." After walking along the narrow laneway, the view suddenly opens and the visitor comes to an island in the early morning. The white color allows the luxurious performance of light and shadow, so that we can perceive the presence of rays of light in the purest and most basic way.
What you see in front of you is the green landscape, green views can also be seen in the gaps, and the eyes are full of green.
If you ascend the stairs in the morning mist, you will find that the dewdrops are inadvertently condensed on the petals while enjoying the mottled shadows of the trees. Even if there are no traditional stringed and woodwind instruments, the scene can also form an ink impression painting full of literati charm.

"It took a lot of manpower and material resources to build this exquisite place connecting to green mountains and surrounded by water." Although the white color remains aloof from the surroundings, the rough touch of natural texture brings affinity. Based on the limited construction cost, the project pays more attention to the connection between space and light and shadow, and chooses artificial materials as much as possible, such as PC bricks, integrated coating, ceramic tiles, metal, etc.It uses light, shadow, craftsmanship and details to make the most of the materials.
