Preface
The project is located in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, near the outskirts of Xiangjiadang Lake and intermingled with natural farmland. Jiaxing has a cultural history of more than two thousand years. It has been a place of prosperity since ancient times, and has given birth to traditional Chinese gardens with local characteristics. In terms of design, on the premise of applying modern landscape planning and design technology and improving the comfort level of life, the designers always insist on meeting the spiritual needs of the traditional Chinese to the maximum, and ensuring the overall practicality and ornamental function of the project.
Influenced by the traditional culture, the construction of the residential area adopts the invisible "concealed" layout. How to combine tradition and modernity without losing their respective charm? This has been the key to promoting the project forward.
Open Up a New View
The entrance fades away and then the view suddenly opens up after passing a winding bamboo path. The gatehouse at the entrance has simple and sturdy lines, and the transparent gatehouse ushers in the Chinese style lingering charm of the landscape wall. The landscape wall is composed of artistic glass and stone wall. The semi-concealed and semi-transparent design divides the space into three levels, but the three levels permeate and relate to each other.
A Place of Serenity
Entering through the gatehouse, the sturdy lines and the building are integrated together. The large-scale calm water surface, the sculptures and the half-empty and half-solid corridor form a clean and pure half-enclosed space, which isolates the surrounding hustle and bustle and creates a quiet and comfortable experience. As the central landscape of the front yard, the circular and sunken receiving space dotted by the mirror-like water surface is the focal point of sight no matter from which angle. The soft light shines directly on the landscape wall, and the reflection on the water makes the space seem more tranquil.
An Easy Journey
After walking through the landscape bridge and coming to the corridor, we can find that the transparent building retreats behind the corridor, making people unable to see through at a glance. Buildings and landscape are arranged on both sides. Walking through it, one can have a panoramic view of the whole front yard space through the corridor between retracting and releasing.
The reception space at the end of the corridor and the sunken reception space form a whole, so that negotiations can be carried out in the same space. Grille with texture allows the natural landscape behind the landscape wall to permeate to the front yard space.
Sitting in the sunken reception space is like sitting above the water. The whole water surface levels with the line of sight, bringing inner calm and creating a modern Zen space.
Adhering to the design principle of ensuring aesthetics and practicality, the project utilizes the innate natural advantages and simple design techniques to integrate classical style, modern styles, nature and culture, so as to create an ideal residential area suitable for modern people.
